You will also demonstrate editing techniques, client communication, and ethical practices to ensure your work reflects both artistry and care.

As part of the Birth Photography Certification, you’ll complete one recorded interview with a full-time photographer. This conversation gives you real-world insight into professional skills, client communication, business practices, and career development while helping you meet certification requirements with professionalism and ethical care.

No connections? No problem. The Optional Guided Interview Pathway pairs you with two experienced mentors in your field through warm introductions arranged by our team. You’ll get the chance to learn real-world skills, ask meaningful questions, and practice professional communication in a supportive setting. These guided interviews count toward your certification requirement and give you the confidence and connections to grow in your career.

For the Birth Photography certification, you’ll submit one Interview Critique Form completed by the professional you interviewed. This form provides feedback on your strengths, areas for growth, and confirms your professionalism and communication skills during the interview process.

For the Birth Photography certification, you’ll need to submit two recommendation letters from individuals who can speak to your professionalism, communication skills, and readiness for this role—such as mentors, colleagues, clients, or supervisors. These letters help confirm your ability to work ethically, respectfully, and effectively with families and professionals.

After completing all course requirements, your materials will be reviewed. Within 3–5 business days, you’ll receive your official Certified Birth Photographer digital certificate and unique certification ID, confirming your credential: CBP (DNT Network).
